Engineering
today's highways requires extensive experience and knowledge of Federal,
Provincial and Municipal regulations governing planning and design concepts;
environmental awareness issues; the BC Forest Practices Code Bill
40-1994; Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) Geometric Design Standards for Canadian Roads. Ministry
of Transportation & Highways Standards and the Highway Traffic Act.
EPES
has developed their expertise in road transportation
over the past forty (40) years including mining and forestry roads
(Quinsam Coal Mine and MacBlo Port Alberni); heavy axle load asphalt pavement
designs for gross vehicle weights of 150,000kg (Argonaut Main); specialty
asphalt pavement designs (Alaska Highway); geotechnical engineering
for highways and bridges; and residential subdivision roads including
analysis of pavements/subgrades with their own Benkelman Beam equipment.
Our
staff have been integral in the design of and construction :major highways & intersections; urban road networks; industrial rail sidings for
the forest industry; airport runway pavements,
both rural and international, including major parking facilities (Edmonton
International Airport); marina expansion including Nanaimo and Maple Bay.
